In September 2008, I emailed German Social Services to inform them I was making “block bookings” of flights to see my two grandsons. I asked when it was convenient for me to spend “Quality time” with them . The Social Services did not reply to my email. I then emailed the lady case officer in charge of my case at  German Social Services again stating that I loved both of my grandsons very much and they were all I had left of my late daughter Carly. I politely told her that if she did not reply I would “go over her head” in the department and find the answers to my query. For her sake, I was reluctant to do this.

She then finally replied 7 days later by email , saying that one of my grandsons, Reece, was being adopted and the papers had already been presented in the German Law Courts. I was angry and horrified that I was told this in such a casual way. I was very upset by the fact that my feelings and opinions were not considered nor were my late daughters wishes taken into account. I told the caseworker from German Social Services dealing with my case that the adoption was against my wishes and that I would stand up in any Court of Law and appeal against this. I told her that I had fought this case, with Carly, for 3 years to win her children back and Carly’s dying wishes were for me to fight on for her sons – Carly was adamant on that! – even drawing up a draft of her Will at the Hospice where she died, stating that she wanted her two children to be left under my guardianship in England. Carly was close to tears when she told me she wanted me to bring up her boys. I told her I would love them for both of us.

The German Social Services have refused, since September 2008, to answer any questions over the adoption to either myself or my Euro MP, Mrs Glennys Kinnock. In effect, “the shutters” have been put down abruptly in our faces. Any emails to German Social Services are not answered nor are phone calls returned.

The German Law firm in Düsseldorf handling my case returned my files back to me two weeks ago, without any warning, after wasting three months of my time. I now desperately need to locate a new law practice who will deal with this aspect of German Law. Injustices have been done against my daughter and now me by another European country, who is a signatory of the Hague Treaty. I now desperately ask for help from anyone who may be able to assist me in any way. I now feel I am facing hostility from within this Euro country. Who took a 10,000 EURO fine rather than allow Carly to see her two sons for the last time, they wouldn’t believe she was desperately ill with cancer, despite consultants letters sent to them, even disbelieving the lawyers working on the case and even calling them liars in a letter of which I have in my possession as evidence.

This heartless establishment MUST stand up and face their in-human actions against my daughter, they are breaking rules and regulations within the hague  treaty and withholding children from being with their parents and families. This has been happening to countless other families over a period of time…….How long can we allow this to continue for?
